Never played the game

But this is a niiice track!

I swear I heard a Tides of Darkness melody in there though...
You playin' tricks on us now? >:[

Keep up the fantastic work!

SkyMarshall responds:

You serious? Never played any of the MI-games? Thats... thats rare :) But thanks man. Might be a ToD-snippet in there too ;) Appreciate the 9 man!

Wow, impressive!

I wish I could have produced something as epic as this for my first FL song...

This is amazing, everything flows really great!
As said before, the kick is a bit quiet, but that's alright the pads and stuff are cool enough to make it sound awesome still.
I like how many times you slowed it down, shows that you have some serious talent when it comes to melodies, because I know that was my major problem, I could never think up a decent melody. >:[

Anyway, the point is: This track is EPIC! It could definitely make weekly 5 and turn some heads. Seriously, I'm adding this to my favorites and 5ing.

Now that my random, incoherent review is over. You can get to work making more amazing music!

Mich responds:

I'm already busy.... :p
Thanks man! And I'll tell you how I came up with the melody's.
First I experiment a little to get a nice chord progression, I build a bassline with this.
Then I write the chords (just start with the main note), then I experiment to see what notes fit with the main note. For the melody I just throw a lot of these notes together(wich I tested if they fit)
and then I just mess around with it until it sounds good :p There you have my melody writing guide. :D

Thanks for the awesome review!

Newgrounds?

This is unbelievable..
I'm at a complete loss for words to describe how creative and incredible this track is. The vocals are outstanding, the lyrics are brilliant and the instruments are perfect..

Very, very well deserving of front page.

Please, please, please make more like this!

Ginchy responds:

wow. thanks! keep your ears peeled... there's more to come.

Not bad!

But your EQ needs adjusting. Badly!

Other than that, awesome job!

Slytrixter responds:

adjust which one?......i just know how to look at the monitor, click and click, listen to music, save, and submit ....thats pretty much it.....and i did this to most(maybe all of them) of my songs...lol...&&thanks for the review...X3 really appreciate it.....

P/S: check out my new (improvised ) remake X3

On that guitar

Turn down how hard that pluck is and this will be amazing!

I love the chorus, you did a really great great job on that.
Don't even worry about vocals, it'll sound better without. (No offense)

This is very original man, you did a fantastic job.
Keep goin'!

(Check out my music?)

firebanesword responds:

I'd turn down the pluck, but DirectWave (a plugin to Fruity Loops) doesn't let you change anything.

In order to turn down the pluck, I'd have to buy a soundfont that didn't have as much pluck. And before I buy anything IN FL8, I should probably BUY FL8, so I don't have to keep a window open until I finish a song.

Thanks for teh compliments, and yes, I will check out your music.

Hmm.

Personally I think it has a hopeful sound to it. I imagined a man thinking back over his regrets at first and then realizing he should focus on where he is and where he's going. But then it slows down. I imagine he must have been thinking about the past again, and then it speeds up and he's back to his thoughts of what's here and to come.

This is a wonderful track, top 5 material honestly. You did a terrific job here, I wouldn't change a thing to tell you the truth. :]
Yes, the mixing is off a little bit here and there, but it's not enough to send this track into a downward spiral.

Brilliant job, your use of instruments is perfect, your flow is just as great. Keep up the good work. :]

(Check out my tracks when you have the time, please. Thank you!)

SolusLunes responds:

Huh, I like your interpretation of it, and I'm glad you liked it as much as you did.

Where were the mixing problems? I never found any myself. :D

Awesome job!

One of my favorite songs on Fl Studio and you actually made it better.
Good job with this, I really wouldn't change anything at all!

Keep remixin' you're good at it!

PrEmoEffect responds:

Thanks, I try =]

Nothin' better :]

Than listening to this and playing The Last Stand. :]

Terrific job on this, couldn't have been done better if you ask me. I listen everyday, and everyday it gets a 5.

Keep 'em comin'! :]

Haha!

I remember seeing this in the portal when it first came around!
Haha, sounded great then and sounds great now, keep up the good work man!

Love it, you did an awesome job yet AGAIN!

4.37/4.38 (+ 0.0052)

jnry3 responds:

Thanks man! Not bad for a 6-hour job, eh? ^_^

Happy! :]

I've had a rough couple of days, this definitely cheered me up!
Thanks!
You've got a unique voice that works for this track, sounds great.
Again, the lyrics are really nice, you've got a talent there.

Personally I liked the piano and "banjo" added in there. Sounded good.

Pro: Your voice matches perfectly with everything, adds a nice touch. The placement of those added instruments is perfect, couldn't have been better.
Con: Turn up the drums a bit, I could hardly hear them over everything that was going on.

Another great track, keep these coming!
Artist favorite. :]

jnry3 responds:

Hmm... I can hear the drums well at where I'm at. Hmm... what's your audio system? On second thought, it does feel a bit muddy.

The synth banjo gave it a nice light feeling, plus the piano too, although I'm having second thoughts about the banjo. I think it'll be a last-minute decision in my project.

May 2008 -- I'm hoping to get 14 tracks out on a CD. ^_^

Excuse the gang signs.
