So I've decided that I'm going to build myself a guitar completely from scratch over the next couple years or so. I'd like it to be ready for my first decade of playing guitar. (:
I want it to be a Quicksilver style body, which is built by Ed Roman Guitars.
So far I've decided on black Korina for the back and sides, quilted maple for the top, with (if I can get it right) pearl binding. The fretboard will be Indian rosewood set on probably a maple or mahogany neck.
I'm gonna be doing my own inlays. (:
It'll have 22 frets on the low E string, and 24 on high E.
I'll be practicing on cheaper woods getting the body perfected before I move on to the real deal just to be absolutely sure I don't fuck up $500 worth of wood. I'll do a clear satin finish on the back, sides and neck while the top will have some sort of burst. Probably dragon burst since it's absolutely fucking awesome, but it'll take a shitload of practice.
It'll have rear chambers and hopefully I'll be able to keep the guitars weight between four and six pounds.
I'll have either Seymour-%u200BDuncans or DiMarzio pickups with a Fernandes Sustainer.
No pickguard.
If I can figure out how to do it, the strings will be run through the body. If not, then I'll just do a stop tail.
All hardware will be gold.
Recessed knobs.
Double cut away.
I'm going for a lot of low and mid range, with enough high range to break through any mix. And I believe the set up I've chose will nail that goal.
It should look a lot like this...

Silence writes a thousand words,
A painted picture, unknown artist.
The drunken poet, and blank parchment.
I see greed in the eyes of those we've followed,
consuming its victim like the plague.
Will there be no mercy (mercy)?
Will there be no shame (shame)?
In this moment the pessimist is optimistic.
Mistakes were realized a moment too late.
Apologies were made in vain.
Isn't it ironic, when peril arises,
compassion follows as shadow.
In this moment the optimist is dead.
(Optimist is dead.)
Redesign this flawed and failed system,
cast a spotlight on those who betrayed us.
And what will be left, but a man without dignity?
A pretentious King, a liar and a thief.
There's nothing to love about this place anymore.
The banner is torn and tattered,
it's suffocating on the heat of your breath..

Collapse.
The chance is lost for forgiveness.
Redemption is not an option.
Crucifixion by media is your sentence.
Understand your crimes.
Redesign your mind,
while you lie rotting in your cage.

There was no shame.
Bring on the emo comments I'm ready from all angles >:D
FOR.. SPARTA!
: i guess :3
